Chris Bennett
Technical Director
As Technical Director, Chris is responsible for the engineering and all corresponding technical aspects of projects delivered by Energy-io.
Chris has over 25 years’ experience in operational and construction roles. He has extensive experience in the design, construction, commissioning, and delivery of electrical power systems for major transmission level energy networks projects, and for large scale renewables developments. His expertise lies in project integration, specifically grid interface with the Network Operator, protection and control interfaces, and OEM equipment interfaces such as WTG’s and BESS.
Chris is leading Energy-io’s innovative approach to project delivery where class-leading, tier 1 transmission expertise is applied to provide value and efficiency for our clients.
Michael McMullan
Project Director
As Project Director, Michael is responsible for the overall construction and delivery of the projects undertaken by Energy-io.
Michael brings over 10 years’ industry experience in delivering major CAPEX projects for leading UK and global EPC Businesses and Energy Network Operators.
His expertise and experiences lie in project and construction management of large-scale onshore wind farms, battery energy storage, HVDC interconnection and major transmission projects for UK Distribution and Transmission Network Operators.
Michael is leading the successful implementation of projects for Energy-io, integrating our values at each phase and interface.
Scott Carlyle
Operations Director
As the Operations Director, Scott is responsible for managing the safe systems of working and HV operations throughout project delivery.
Scott brings over 20 years’ experience in both HV and LV operations across several phases of the lifecycle of electrical assets including construction, connection, operation, and maintenance. His involvement in major projects has ranged from generation, such as large-scale onshore wind, Tidal and BESS to distribution networks projects such as overhead lines and critical substation works across the UK.
Scott is leading Energy-io’s approach to HV operations when delivering and integrating projects into the distribution network.
Rachel Fitzpatrick
Lead Electrical Engineer
Rachel leads the coordination and integration of electrical system design across the lifecycle of projects delivered by Energy-io.
Prior to joining Energy-io Rachel gained experience within leading global engineering consultancies. With major developers and leading EPC contractors as clients she has been key to the delivery of several large-scale generation projects, including, on-shore Wind, Solar, BESS and Nuclear power.
Rachel is responsible for establishing the electrical project and client requirements, optioneering, design and detailed design. She is also key to supporting projects through the delivery phase to ensure technical compliance at all stages such as procurement, acceptance, commissioning, and reporting for major project deliverables and components.
John Burns
Head of System Design
John is responsible for leading the electrical systems design across the lifecycle of projects delivered by Energy-io.
John brings more than 30 years of sector leading engineering design and implementation experience. His wealth of knowledge and experience extends across generation, transmission, and distribution from LV to HV systems up to 400kV. He has held senior roles in the delivery major projects for network operators, large-scale project developers and global engineering consultancies.
He is leading the design, application, and commissioning of protection and control systems associated with the projects that Energy-io undertake.
Lauren Wyllie
PM & Sustainability Specialist
Lauren is leading the integration of sustainability principles throughout the management of projects at Energy-io.
She brings experience in the management of projects from procurement phase through to delivery. Prior to joining Energy-io Lauren was responsible for managing the procurement for major transmission projects within the electricity supply sector.
With a technical specialty in carbon management, she is responsible for project management which extends to the integration and fulfilling of the ESG requirements for both our clients and Energy-io.
Calum Young
Lead HV Substation Engineer
Calum is leading Energy-io’s delivery of transmission connected projects across the UK.
He brings a wealth of major Transmission Network experience having worked on a range of complex projects from 400kV substation redevelopment to 33kV customer connection projects.
Calum is responsible for providing valuable solutions that reduce the complexity and improve timescales of HV substation projects throughout all phases of a project lifecycle from feasibility and optioneering through to final commissioning.
